We're Moving!

The Billings Vineyard Church is moving out of the Double Edge and into the old Garfield School. The school is located at the corner of 1st Avenue South and 32nd Street. Our first Worship Service in the new location will be Sunday December 14th at 10 a.m.

Between now and then, we have much work to do—painting, refinishing floors, installing new carpet, installing coffee equipment, moving gear, making new signs, etc. (you get the idea). If you would like to help please call the office at 259.VINE, email, or put your name on one of the sign-up sheets on Sunday.

We will have our own Kid's Rooms, Coffee Room and Office. We will have to set-up and tear-down the gym each Sunday. Otherwise, we can leave everything else as it is and use it as much as we want during the week. There is janitorial service for the public areas, but we will need to keep our own space clean.

As with any move, there will be expenses to cover (remodeling, buying new equipment, phone & internet service, etc.) Our rough budget for the initial phase is $5,000. If the Lord directs you to help with this, please do whatever He directs. He is always more generous to us than any of us deserve.

Thank you to the Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch for their hospitality and to God for showing His hand and His heart!

Lift that sheetrock…

We are still a "go" to help the Bernells today. "This is Montana, be a man, suck it up."

However, we will be knocking off at noon rather than making it an all day deal. After all, we do want to spend some time drinking hot cocoa and reading books by the fire, I mean why waste a good blizzard?

Drive safely and take care.

An Evening of Worship

Friday September 5th several worship leaders (including Andy Hendley, John & Marie Barnett and David Casey) will lead an evening of worship. The only agenda will be to tell Jesus how wonderful we think He is. We will begin at 7 pm and in all likelihood go late. This will be held at the Double Edge in downtown Billings (104 N. 29th). Anyone is welcome to attend. A free will offering will be given to help cover travel expenses for our out of town worship leaders.

Ecuador!

We are headed to Ecuador for the first of we hope many mission trips the Billings Vineyard takes.

Ecuador is the only Latin American country with no Vineyard Church. There is now in Quito a Vineyard church plant which has been meeting as a home group for 3 months! We are going to help with this church plant. We will be praying, modeling, evangelizing, working with an orphanage and playing with our Ecuadorian siblings.

The Story of New Creation

I want to tell you a story…

To kick things off, God created everything out of nothing.

It took Him 6 days to accomplish this great feat, then He said, "It is very good." So God rested on the 7th day (Saturday).

Now on the sixth day (Friday) He created a human (Adam) from dirt.”He then breathed life into him (this word means, breath, wind or spirit).

He made a garden and put Adam & his new bride, Eve, in the garden as gardeners if you will,

MSUB Debate—Is there a god?

This is the text of my stance in the debate 2/21/08 at MSU Billings. The topic was "Is there a god?" The debaters were Dr. Eric Buck and Allen Hodges. I appreciated the exchange with Dr. Buck—it was honest, thoughtful, respectful and friendly. I post this here for consideration…

Is there a god?

Yes—I say this both from the logical and personal perspectives.

My position tonight is, as well as I am able, to explain both of these perspectives.
